IPL 2019 DC vs RR Match 53 | FanFight Fantasy Cricket Preview

DC vs RR: They last reached the playoffs in 2012 and since then, they’ve always struggled to make it to the top 4. Talented of course, but the knockout punch was missing. Cut to 2019, the franchise changes its name, the fortunes change & how. The Delhi franchise have made it to the top 4 with a game to spare. What have they done right this year? The youngsters have been on fire for the Capitals. Kagiso Rabada’s contribution has been immense. 25 wickets in 12 games. But the pacer has been withdrawn from the rest of the series. The World Cup is around the corner & the Proteas wouldn’t risk their premier pacer for the pompous league. They’ve got Trent Boult & he isn’t bad at all.
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishab Pant & Shreyas Iyer have all stepped struck them big & struck them clean. While their away record has been phenomenal, Delhi have a 50% record at home this season. They’ve got one game left & would certainly like to finish on a high. How high? Depends on how MI & CSK finish.

RR CAN STILL MAKE IT THROUGH

Rajasthan Royals have had a journey of sorts this season. Their start was abysmal but they’ve somehow managed to sneak in & compete for a spot in the top 4. In their last 7 games, RR were able to garner 9 points. Before that, they could only manage 1 win in 6 games. It all seems too simple now. What if they’d won a couple of games at the start. Well, that’s the Indian Premier League for you. Varun Aaron has added a new dimension to the bowling attack. Riyan Parag seems fearless, Ajinkya Rahane has discovered his apparently lost rhythm & captain Steve Smith can’t put a foot wrong. Smith has returned to Australia & Rahane is likely to lead RR again.
Can RR still make it to the playoffs? They’ve got to win this contest & hope the other results go their way. Had you told Steve Smith & the RR think tank if they’d be content with where they are now, a vertical nod of the head is what you’d get.
