IPL 2019 RCB vs RR Match 49 | FanFight Fantasy Cricket Preview

RCB vs RRThe in-form Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on the under-performing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in match 49 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, in Bengaluru
RR led by Steve Smith will be looking to outpower RCB, in a desperate attempt to win every game from here on, in order to still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs. RCB, on the other hand, stand no chance now, after their defeat against the Delhi Capitals. RCB did show some signs of improvement by winning back-to-back 3 games. However, that was not enough, as they had to win every match to keep their hopes alive.

THE STORY SO FAR…

RR is coming into this match after back-to-back victories against KKR & SRH. They will look to continue their momentum and hope to deliver similar performances. However, the absence of Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes will hurt them badly and can be costly for them. To further add to their woes, Jos Butler, who had been giving stand out performances for RR, also had to return to England to prepare for the upcoming World Cup. But what’s looking good for them is the fact that Ajinkya Rahane is finally seeing himself scoring runs.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, though are technically out of the tournament, might still be hoping to make it to the playoffs with 12-points. Though it is a super-optimistic approach, for that to happen, RCB need to win both the remaining matches and that too with a bigger margin to level up their run-rate. To do so, RCB will need to fix their middle-order, as Moeen Ali has departed to England for the World Cup and their previous combination of Shivam Dube, Heinrich Klaasen and Gurkeerat Singh did not really work for them.

PITCH REPORT

There is no doubt that the pitch in Bangalore is a paradise for the batsmen. Apart from the minimal assistance to the spinners, the pitch has been ruthless to the bowlers. On this pitch, bowlers cannot afford the slimmest of errors. Scores exceeding 190 too, haven’t helped the teams succeed. The team that wins the toss should elect to bat first, considering the pitch has been kind to the team batting first so far in this tournament.

WEATHER REPORT

Weather in Bangalore is a major cause of worry. The forecast states that there is a possibility of rains from 4 pm to 12 am. Hence, the chances of the game being washed out are plenty. Although this may not impact the RCB much, given they are already eliminated from the tournament, it is a big cause of concern for RR. If rains wash away tomorrow’s match, it will essentially eliminate RR from the tournament too. The temperature during the evening will hover around the 25-degree mark. Humidity is expected to reach a staggering 80 per cent during the course of the match.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Rajasthan Royals have won the majority of the 20 games they played against Royal Challengers Bangalore. RR have won 10 games, while KKR have 8 wins to their name. The difference in winning ratio is mostly unaffected when comparing the stats specifically at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. RR have won 4 games, with RCB winning the remaining 2 games, out of the total 6 games played in RCB’s home ground.

TEAM COMBINATION

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE

Umesh Yadav may have to make way for the debutant, left-arm pacer, Khejroliya. Marcus Stoinis has been one of the most consistent players for RCB. He has scored 211 runs at an average of 70.33 in the tournament so far and the team will expect him to continue in the same form. However, it will be RCB’s match-saving trio, Parthiv, Virat and ABD, who will need to deliver for RCB to clinch a victory.
